January 2011 – National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) – Film + Video Film Festival Press Release
About a year ago, I was asked to be a selector for the NMAI’s Film + Video Festival, which was to take place in March 2011.  It seemed so far away but I was willing to help in any was I could.  During the Spring of 2010, I was able to screen at least 100 films from throughout the hemisphere.  These films included feature-length as well as short film and included both documentary and narrative formats.  In July of 2010, NMAI brought the four selectors to NYC where we screened even more films and deliberated and rated each film.  Although we had our own opinions about each film, it was inspiring to see consensus at work.  We all may have had strong likes and dislikes, but the overall selection process would reflect our cumulative ratings.  I am looking forward to returning to NYC in March to attend the actual film festival!  CLICK ON THE IMAGE BELOW TO READ THE NMAI PRESS RELEASE.

October 2006 - Interview – Native Voice TV (San Jose, CA)
After meeting Cihuapilli Rose Amador and Sundust Martinez at the Native American Journalist Association (NAJA), I learned they were hosts of a Native television program called Native Voice TV which airs in San Jose, CA on Comcast Channel 15.  They were interested in having me on their show if I was ever in the San Jose area.  As it turned out, my program at ABC/Disney was ending and I was going to be in the LA-area.  After I completed my program, I flew to San Jose and met with Rose and Sundust.  They were recording the actual program after my visit, so they did a recorded interview with me since I couldn’t be in the studio.  (I was trying to grow my hair out and I didn’t realize my hair was a nest as I was being interviewed…someone should have told me! ha!)  NativeVoiceTV programming can been see on youtube.com.  Click HERE is go to their youtube page.
